Be a Mentor
If you have an interest in working with young people in the community, we may have an opportunity just for you. Applications, background checks , and clearances may be required.
Organize Book Drive
Help us build family home libraries and give books to children to create a love of reading and literacy. While it is wonderful that Homewood has one of the most beautiful and widely used libraries in the area, it is also vital for young people to have their very own books at home to keep and read over and over again!
Drop off or mail books for every age (children to adults) at the Homewood Children's Village office (801 N. Homewood Avenue-Suite B, Pittsburgh, PA 15208). We have various ways to distribute books to children and families and need to keep a steady supply as we provide free books at most of our community events.

Throughout the year, many of the partner organizations that work with the Homewood Children's Village need help in community activities and programs. For instance, Operation Better Block coordinates a Redd Up day in Homewood in the spring and fall. This clean-up project draws not only residents, but neighboring community members, college students, and other committed organizations. Click here to download the Volunteer Form now.
